Sathva

Privacy

How Sathva handles your information. Last updated 2 November 2026.

What we collect

  • Your name and email address, and your password (stored only as a secure hash), or your Google account id if you sign in with Google.
  • Your phone number and district, only if you add them.
  • What you post: listings, wanted requests, offers, proposals, messages and photos.

Why we use it

Only to run Sathva: to show your posts, let people contact you and keep your account secure. We do not sell your information, show ads, or use tracking or analytics tools.

Who can see what

  • Anyone can see your listings, wanted requests and your first name.
  • Messages, offers and proposals are visible only to the two people in that conversation.
  • Your phone number is shared only with the other person, and only after an offer or proposal is accepted.
  • Listing photos are public. Photos in chats and proposals are private and shown only through short-lived links to the two people involved.
  • Your email address is never shown to other users.

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep you signed in, and a short-lived one during Google sign-in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Where it is stored

On our own server in Amazon Web Services (Mumbai, India). Photos are stripped of hidden location data before upload. Unused photos are deleted automatically.

You can edit or delete your posts at any time, and remove your phone number from your profile. To get a copy of your data, or to have your account and all its data deleted, email harsha.mailto@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. We will reply within 14 days.
